Research paper reflection

My research paper was about how the school system was stifling creativity, now i know there are more skeptics than there are believers but i still stand by my opinion. I'm certain a lot of people would agree that the school system isn't even near perfect and could use a lot more improvement and I'm also sure that a lot of people would agree that from kindergarten through High school parents notice that their child is a lot less imaginative and even less likely to be able to create something out of nothing more than a thought. That is because of the schools system saying that creativity is good but only when they say it is.

Even now i still believe that what i wrote in my paper is true, and even if you disagree with me you can't deny that most of the things we have today is because some person somewhere decided to act on an idea they had. The main idea throughout the writing of my paper was that creativity is life and without it we are nothing, then I went into some ranting about the school systems not allowing creativity all because of some bad experiences I've had in the past. If I could redo the paper I probably would have tried to get my point across a little better but its too late now.

Reflection

My project was pretty simple, what i did was draw a sketch of the F.J. Reitz high school’s Bowl. The initial project however was to sketch the entire high school from an aerial view but was unable to find an image to fit the requirements.

The hours was one of the difficult parts normally a sketch can take up to a few days to complete but I was able to get it done within (a rough estimate) 25- 26 hours total. There are multiple steps you have to take in order to create a sketch of this size. First you have to outline as much as possible or you could lose several hours of work by having to start over. Second the rough sketch is very difficult to do on a large scale because the graphite required is really soft and brittle which makes smudging a large issue and because its such a large scale sketch you have to be very careful to avoid touching the paper. The final step is to get the detailing done which on a large scale is relatively easy to do if you can avoid smudging. Time involved with each step depends on the amount of preparation you put in before you start, if you don't prepare for mistakes along the road then you would never get past the rough sketch.

In truth i have done a project similar to this one before, though not on such a large scale, when i last did something similar to this I was drawing my own house for an art project. I would definitely recommend doing this type of project to other seniors but i would warn them that it is a very difficult project to do because if you don't have the patience to do something like this then you should steer clear. The two personal learning experiences that I had upon completing this project is that one you should always leave room for error and you should be prepared for the unexpected to happen. The most important skill i acquired through this project would be patience without it I would have never finished this project.

My advice for future seniors would be to start as early as possible because you never know what will happen. Most of the problems I had to deal with were the smudges, they were usually small but some were large, and the way you deal with those is to have a good detailing eraser or have some white out on hand. If I had the chance to do this project again I would definitely start earlier. I don't really know what kind of grade i would give myself because art is only in the eye of the beholder so it determines what other people think.

Famous British Person

   Robbie Williams         Take That
                                                    (Band)

Robbie Williams is the person I found, Robbie is an English singer-songwritter and occasional actor.
He was a member of the pop group Take That, but found greater wealth in his solo carrer.
Williams rose to fame with the band Take That in the early- to mid- 1990's and after many disagreements with management and group members he left in 1995 to go solo.
Williams has sold over 70 million records worldwide, which ranks him with the best selling music artists worldwide.
Williams was born in Stoke-on-Trent, on 13 February 1974. His parents, Janet (née Farrell) and Peter Williams, ran a pub called the Red Lion in the town of Burslem, before his father became the licensee at the Port Vale F.C. Social Club – this led to Williams' lifelong affinity for the team. His maternal grandfather was Irish, from Kilkenny.
In 1990, the sixteen-year-old Williams was the youngest member to join Take That. According to the documentary Take That: For the Record, his mother read an advertisement seeking members for a new boy band and suggested that he try out for the group.
After several hits Williams began having conflicts with the lead singers over the restrictive rules, and he began drinking and dabbling in cocaine.
In 1995, Williams's drug abuse had escallated to near overdose befor schedualed preformances, he eventually left the band to begin his solo carrer
After battling over the lawsuit over his solo career he was released from his contract and formally announced he had signed with Chrysalis Records.
His debut album, Life Thru a Lens, was released in September 1997. The album launched with his first live solo gig at the Élysée Montmartre theatre in Paris, France. The album debuted at number eleven of the UK Album Charts.
After the success of his third album, Williams wanted to take another musical direction. He took two weeks off from his tour to record what would be his fourth studio album, a big band album. Born from his lifelong love for Frank Sinatra – combined with the success of the track "Have You Met Miss Jones?" that he recorded for the film Bridget Jones' Diary in early 2001 – the album was recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles.
In 2002, Williams signed a record-breaking £80 million contract with EMI. The contract included a number of provisos, including the label ceding greater creative control to the artist and a commitment to breaking Williams into the US market. So far it is the biggest music deal in British history. The deal was brokered by Ingenious Media, a leading UK corporate finance advisory business.
Williams features in his own karaoke video game, We Sing Robbie Williams which was released on 12 November 2010 by Nordic Games.
It has been claimed that Williams has sold more albums in the UK than any other British solo artist in history and has won more BRIT Awards than any other artist to date.  His album sales on average stands at over 57 million worldwide. Williams was entered in The Guinness Book of World Records when, after he announced his World Tour for 2006, 1.6 million tickets were sold in one single day.

The improvements i would make to the school are probably 1. Fix the draft in the staircases. 2. Put a viranda (I think thats what its called) over the lunch room patio. 3. Get tables with chairs attached for the lunch room (that would solve the problems with pushing in chairs). 4. And finnaly fix all the miscalanious problems in the school, ie. locks on the stall doors in the restrooms missing, computer screens not working, lockers busted.

Teens today are not as bad as what people think. Teens are more active than ever because of the increased demand in the work force.
Teens are less violent than what people beleive, because a teen strives to be treated with more respect like an adult they tend to take on more responsibility. Not every teen will do something just to "fit in" most of the time they do things just because they want to.
Television has been a great influence on teens because it advertises all sorts of things as well as entertain. Not many people have exeptionaly good manners these days but thats because societies standards have changed along with this generation.
There are plenty of good role moddels for teens some examples would be their parents and teachers. The government should censor less so that way teens are less rebellious to do things. Having multiple extracurricular activities isnt neccesaraly a bad thing because it gives teens a chance to relate with their peers.

The worlds worst natural disaster (by death toll) would have to be the smallpox epidemic.  The epidemic started in the early 1900's and lasted 80 years untill it was declared eradicated on May 8, 1980. The death toll was roughly estimated to be over 300,000; I know that an epidemic isint a natural disaster that is accociated with weather but they are still considered natural disasters all the same and the smallpox epidemic was the worst.

I think this generation doesnt need a great speaker at this moment because there is no real cause or need for one. Most of the time you only see a great speaker is when it is times of war, a revolution is needed, or when something that needs to be done only by the common man.

An example of a time when a great speaker arose was when Martin Luther King Jr. rose to help the black community fight a peaceful battle and win equal rights for african americans.
